The Great Big Science Read – Science Week in Australia

National Science Week is an annual celebration of science in Australia, an opportunity to join together to enjoy and explore the wonders and benefits of science. It’s been running for 15 years!

Last week, August 11-19, 2012 marked the 15th National Science Week in Austrailia.  This year the week was also known as the Great Big Science Read to share in their National Year of Reading.  Australia invited its citizens to delve into reading some work(s) of either science or science fiction to show popular support.

Because I prefer fiction, I have listed here three suggestions of my personal favorites that you might like to enjoy if you would like to participate too!

The best alien invasion of earth novel ever:  Footfall by Larry Niven and Jerry Pounelle.
