Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations Page 1 Redesigned by 70 designers
The company GraphicDesign& just published what a layman might call an experimental study in graphic design and print layout. GraphicDesign& solicited seventy internationally recognized designers to submit their own interpretation for the ideal layout of page one of Charles Dickens’ classic book Great Expectations. Each designers layout is accompanied by an explanation for the individual’s creative reasoning, specifically in the context of this classic work. The publisher says of their book, “Page 1: Great Expectations is an unusual typographic experiment designed to explore the relationship between graphic design, typography and the reading of a page.” If this subject sounds intriguing to you and you like the sample designs shown here, then the publisher’s link is at the bottom of this page.
